To all the friends of mehitabel the cat: We said farewell to her at 11:30 this morning. She had a good final night and morning, with lots of attention and snuggling, but it was time. She went quietly and peacefully. We'll miss her terribly. -

kitty update: we're back at home- decided to take the middle road. No overnight in kitty hospital w/ IV fluids, no euthanasia. Fluids under the skin (which I can continue at home), appetite stimulant, assortment of yummy stinky foods, and her favorite warm blanket on the bed. So far she's absorbing the fluids, ate a good tablespoon of the tuna- ( Read more... ) -
scrolls!
Got the three scrolls with pendent seals sealed at Coronation, and the two for this event delivered as well. Good responses all round, and lovely thanks from our lovely Queen, er, new Countess. So nice. The carp was delivered in the evening- gold leaf looks so spiffy in firelight!

Holy Crap! I'm posting two days in a row- what's the world coming to? Nobody in the shop this week so lunch at my desk, that's what. Saturday was Candlemas in DragonsLaire, which was really fun. I judged two very well done A&S entries, observed the second half of a class on making leather cases and made some progress on the eyelets in a (long overdue) new kirtle for me, had a fitting with the lovely Isabeau for her kirtle, then stayed for the feast. Was really fun! We braved the recently-receded waters and drove to Eugene after work on friday. Spooky to look out into the dark and see light reflecting off large bodies of water on each side of the road where there should be fields and, you know, off-ramps and stuff ( Read more... )semi-annual post
