Boy howdy

Never been diagnosed as anosmic by a doc-type-person, but I've been this way for as long as I can remember; to the point of thinking I'd eventually "learn" how to smell. That's a really odd concept, now that I think about it, but it seemed normal back then. Learning how to use a sense? Hmm ( Read more... )

Yeah, I'd be interested in how you cook. Just out of curiosity. I'm a vegetarian, so I use a lot of veggies in my cooking too. I've cooked for "smellers" (heh heh! funny term!), and they usually like the stuff I make, so it must be flavorful for them, too. But I'd be interested in learning what you've come up with.

oh my god i am so glad that i've found this community! i really want to 'learn' how to smell better... i used to be able to at some point... i think right around puberty it just waned way down, now i can rarely ever smell anything, but when i do it's a big event. recently i smelled the watermelon scented shampoo in the shower about two months ago...but since then it's been pretty much nada. i feel so dumb trying really really hard to smell perfume and flowers and things people bring me to smell and i never can! this is crazy to have this community out there ( ... )

Wow... I'd done forgot about this community. Not very active, generally.

But, to answer your last question, you can post to the whole group at the normal "update journal" page (or any of the clients, I think, but I'm only really familiar with iJournal), just click the "More Options" link (or the "..." after "update journal"), and select the community as the journal to post in.

As for fixin', it really depends on the cause. And I haven't done much reading lately on anosmia, so I forget pretty much everything that doesn't apply to me (and since mine's congenital, I'm pretty stuck; though I haven't had a doc check me out). A good place to start would be Max's page: http://www.maxuk.net/nose.html
