Saw Ides of March the other day. It was actually really beautiful half the time. The other half, the shots had a weird kind of tension in them, but I was crushing on Gosling enough to be charitable and consider the tension intentional. I’ll have to see Ides of March. Drive looks worth a shot too, perhaps. If you’re a Gosling fan, have you seen United States of Leeland? Wonderful film.

how do you direct Dracula (or, you know, The Godfather), then follow it up with a Robin Williams comedy about a child in an adult's body?

Children, bloodsuckers, Robin Williams... It's all just variations on the same theme, isn't it?

Saw Incendies recently. Visually, a very beautiful film -- really makes you appreciate the landscape of the region -- and the premise is pretty compelling. I was a bit disappointed with the ending, though. Couldn't help but think of this afterwards. [Link is a spoiler.]

Oh, I just remembered the Three Colors trilogy. If you want visually beautiful films, these are a must. They might be a bit hard to find, though.
