The oven hob hates me and I hate the oven hob. I turned it on full power for 15 minutes and it was cool enough to touch at the end of that. Stupid thing. I woke up at 6am, and the sky was beautiful - pale blue with the chapel all lit up in gold, with the moon above it, almost full and very big, and that golden as well. Then this evening there was another beautiful sky, with dark bluish clouds lit up from below so that the tops of them glowed, and big rays of sunshine coming out of the top in a semi- ( Read more... )

I arrived in Cambridge this morning, to what appears to be a very warm Indian summer. Contrary to the horrible dream I had the other night, I have not been put back into M8 by mistake. Yay! I have booked accommodation in Spain. We are spending 2 nights in Seville, 2 in Cordoba and 2 in Granada. I am extremely excited about this and have just written a list of things to take with me. *shame*

I also have a new college daughter and have written her a letter.

So I have at least achieved something today, even if it wasn't academic

Yesterday we went out to Wagamama and Bar Censaa to say goodbye to Hannah, who's off to Siberia. Wagamama food was not as nice as the last time I had it, but it tasted incredibly raw and healthy and virtuous. Today I have been more productive than usual. I cleaned up my bike and did 3 1/2 hours' work. I was aiming for six, but hey, it's better than I have been doing. I started to comprehend just how complicated this dissertation is going to be. I deleted 500 of my 1700 emails. Er... oh dear. If that's productive, I'm lazy.
