Right, I hereby confirm Lydia and Nadia's suspicions that the minds of examiners work in very strange ways. I did ok on paper 4 (one of the essays was apparently first-class), whereas paper 12, which I was convinced was my best paper by a fair margin, was actually my worst by a fair margin.
