Lotus Lyrics & Translation

Feb 20, 2011 00:49

Its like I'm destined to translate songs that start with "L"!

Here's my second attempt at translating a song and even though my eyes won't open properly, I'm determined to post it up!
And I'm trying a different method of presenting the lyrics so you don't have to scroll back and forth. Tell me if you guys prefer this or the other ^-^

Like the past and future blending.. ♪ )

Japanese is complicated in that it can use a set of words but mean something else @_@

Yayyy. Thanks for this *-*
I absolutely loveeeee this song too and now it's all the better since I can understand it all x)

*Random Question*
Why does the kanji use monogatari when they pronounce it as the kana vrsn of the English word? *-* /just curious if you know!~ heh

You're welcome~ ^-^
Did you pre-order the single?? I haven't been this excited since Believe loll. Yappari, kakkoi Arashi in a full dance routine makes my heart dance! ♥

Well, I don't know for sure but what I think is that the word "物語" is not only "story" as we understand it in english but it's more personal, something like, a biography but less formal. It gives a more personal impression in relation to the whole song and also from the theme of hope and so on, it also hints at the start of a journey for the individual(s). It could be the lyricist's personal choice to use it instead just writing the kana.
Why they replaced it with "Sutoorii" could simply be due to the number of syllables, 4 versus 5. And its also cool to add english words in lyrics *wink*

Haha I hoped I helped with that essay but let me know what you think too =)

Unfortunately funds are low and I wasn't able to pre-order T~T but I heard it on youtube so I guess that's stilll goood heh.

Hmm, yeah I get what you mean about the deeper meaning about 物語 because I've seen it used in such contexts and etc. But haha, thanks for that ~! I guess they were trying to include the 物語 meaning yet be cool with the Eng words at the same time xD haha~

But yeh! Thanks for the translations again <3 I did Japanese studies for years but I still find it hard to translate songs ;_;

Aww~ The PV is out too and I can't count the number of times I've watched/listened to it XD

Hahha true, I don't know why they think English is so great when they have words that can express so much so simply ♥

Japanese studies? As in learning Japanese or learning about Japanese? Sounds fun either way XD I can't really translate songs that easily too.. I need ALOT of help from dictionaries but theres also the tricky guesswork of some meanings from the context of the song @_@ But in the end, I love the challenge XD DoM kamo shirenai ne haha XD

YAY!
thanks for translating and sharing this!
i really, really appreciate how you changed from ur usual layout to this, because usually when im looking at the lyrics, i tend to open a word doc to rearrange the lyrics into how it is right now so that it's easier for me to learn the words.. so... you're awesome <3
just imagine my delight when i realised you're arranging it this way too! haha! ^^
