Tension
hands all wrapped around,
tiny center I have found.
Once, a dripping memory...
created with intent of sensory
unwound.
Touch, a gasping breath...
feeling clasping ribbon death.
Unlamented secret scent
collapsing wounds into accent
of your face and eyes.

He didn’t have to say sorry. That was one thing I’d never wanted. To hear his lips more around those words, carelessly. Because I knew it was all customary…to be expected. What else are polite condolences but acts of practice in a continual society of “I’m sorry”? Everyone’s sorry.

I don't like having the last word...
I tried saying your name out loud and it’s as odd as my own name. Befitting, but not. I almost was able to see you outside my glance; perpetual vision of you in my head.
