MSU has made it clear that there is a distinction to be made between 'so easy I don't think' and 'death of a thousand paper cuts.' Sho' 'nuff, I don't have to write, uh, any essays whatsoever this entire semester, analytical or otherwise, but I do have to make a poster-board presentation on, dunno, why drugs are bad or the dangers of a high-fat ( Read more... )

I guess the ideal would be that I was strong enough to make it through all fours years at NYU before I moved back, but that didn't happen, did it?

Psssh. "Strong enough" ain't the issue. "Enough of a fucking tool" might be. I've heard from just about everyone that NYU is isolating and alienating; it doesn't make you "weak" to understand that you're not jiving with a particular living situation. As for MSU: yeah, welcome to state college classes. My advice is pick up a few pet teachers on which to let your brilliance shine for the purpose of garnering future recommendations and GRADUATE EARLY.

i agree with the above advice, but also, MSU has a well-respected journalism program. it's actually one of the best in the country. you might want to look into it.

Nay, I'm at Missouri State rather than (University of) Mizzou of bizarrely excellent journalism program fame. I did almost end up there during the first round of college choice when I was wanting to do journalism.

I think MSU has a renowned forensics program and not entirely unrenowned drama program, but neither of those are really my thing.

Side note, the main opposition argument over the recent name change of Southwest Missouri State University to Missouri State University was that it would be confused with the University of Missouri.
