welcome to medical school. you are now entering an alternate universe in which a social life is non-existent. your sense of self should be finding it's way out the door soon, too.
I mean that in the most non-snarky way possible. last year was an AWFUL transition for me. it will get better. or at least, you'll get used to it. and keep reminding yourself that it will be so worth it in the end. I still have to do that all the time.
I'm sure it will be worth it, it's just difficult right now.
It seems funny to me that all medical school claim that they want balanced applicants (good grades, community service, clinical experience, hobbies outside of medicine), but that balance disappears after the frist day of class.
I'm sure it will get better. It already seems better. I was just having a bad day.
