Sapphoq said it best; I suffer from terrible depression myself, with those exact same feelings (only it's my father who says that shit and not my mom) - and I'm asexual as well.
What I would need from a person who loves me is quiet understanding, support in the form of just being there, and unconditional love. I would definitely try that with your wonderful girlfriend.
Be there for her, ride out the waves with her, and things will turn around. They may never fully turn around (depression is a beast that doesn't like to let go) but, in time, with your loving support, things may look up.
Depression is a tricky beast. I know I've spent a year being depressed, but at this point in my life I find it hard to even recall what it really felt like. Some of the best advice that I've heard is that you have to keep pressing yourself to keep doing things. You can't wait for the depression to pass on it's own so you could return to doing something you find pleasure in. You have to push yourself to keep doing the things you used to appreciate in order for the depression to pass.. It did require some interesting character features for me to get over it. Good luck in your endeavor!

Best of luck to you both!
