ridonkulous, right?? Fortunately--for now--it's only affecting Bell (who already limits data usage & charges for over-ages, the scumbags) and their resellers. Shaw & Telus and other major companies don't apply--although they may see this as a way of changing their plans. I HATE data rate restrictions, they are unfair--especially with all the technology at our disposal and how we use the internet (watching TV, downloading music, etc).
I live in the country and am on a well. The Gov't TRIED to tell us that although we own the land, we do not own the natural resources on the land and that water is a natural resource so they wanted to put a meter on the well !!!! That didn't happen.
You know that fart you passed this morning.. well there's gonna be an ass gas tax on that soon to.
I have Shaw cable/net out here but I know a lot of Yanks who have to "pay for use" on their net and cells even home phone calls unless they get an expensive so called "unlimited" plan.
It was only a matter of time before we get screwed. You can bet Bell argued it was the American way in front of the CRTC but when the Yanks want to fly planes around the country or set up their cell/net service the Bell bastards scream UNFAIR we are a poor (Gov't subsidized) company and need protection from free enterprise.
