Dina, my host mom, and me have the same size feet. A great discovery. I've been borrowing her shoes, her jackets, her bags. It's more like having a well off older sister. I finally arrived in Uruguay...crazy stuff. I live across the street from the beach, literally, it's awesome. I'm staying with this amazing family, they're so cool, and have 3 punk brothers who are 18, 22 and a 24 year old who lives in another flat. Nicaragua is still amazing and beautiful. We´re having a mini dry season, for a few weeks in the middle of the rainy season, so the heat is just ridiculous. I´ve now been on route to see my volunteers twice. They´re all doing really well. I have a few vols who are having trouble with the food- some of them can´t stand the sight of rice and beans ( Read more... )

This week I went around to all my communities to visit the volunteers and make sure they´re alive and doing well and eating and stuff. It was great. My vols are a lot of fun, and it´s hilarious how they think I have this wealth of information and knowledge. It´s really cute. I´m really impressed at how well they´re all doing. Nicaragua is amazing. It feels very familiar even after being away for a few years. I leave tomorrow on route survey to check out communties and make sure they´re ready for the volunteers.
