I just read a blog that pointed out that while we often say that breastfeeding is free, it's not. It costs the mothers time and labor. And so saying that its the free choice, or that its the cheaper choice, is just another way of devaluing women's work.
I hadn't heard that before, and thought it was a really interesting point. -

Did I mention that I saw my first frozen waterfall this winter? Because I did. It was very amazing. If you ever get the chance to see a frozen waterfall, you should. I hope to make it to Niagara falls one of these winters. Its pretty much a highway drive, so the weather shouldn't be too problematic/stressful ( Read more... ) -

My current pet peeve: People who cannot handle getting negative/constructive feedback. I wish people would recognize that when you provide honest feedback to someone, it is a mark of respect, and shows that you care enough about them to say something difficult. We're trying to find a roommate for next year, and I find myself quite excited at the eventuality of cramming J and myself into one bedroom instead of a bedroom and office.
