With great power comes great responsibility. :-)

It's tough both for both client and therapist when the therapist has to move or discontinue treatment. The best therapist I've ever had, and the only one with whom I seemed to make progress got pregnant after I'd been seeing for about a year. I proceeded to take my two steps back for the one I'd taken forward, and havent yet caught back up.

But, nevertheless, every time I see a punk/ goth person a part of me feels a bit sad to have lost that part of me.

Then you haven't lost that part, but only the external trappings, and perhapse social persona of it. No?

It's so true. Discontinueing treatment is so tough. I've really enjoyed every single one of my clients, and feel so honoured to have been party of their voyage. Although I am happy to see my clients graduate from rehab.

I still think about my first client. Saying goodbye to her was very difficult. I can imagine how difficult it is for the client. I am sorry to hear that you feel that you have taken 2 steps back. Is there any way that you can use that experience that you had with your therapist to develop a new helpful one?

Maybe I have lost that part and it isn't so bad. I'm happier now than I ever was then. When it comes to music and fashion I am still so there, I just have to play grown up when around clients ;)

Thank you for your comment :)

While doing a search for Ontario + Pagans, your profile came up. I hope you don't mind but I'd like to add you to my friends list. I'd love to read the adventures of a psychotherapist belly-dancer. (added to the nuclear physicist belly dancer friend I have ;))
I'm a counsellor so we are in a similar field.

Peace
Dana
