My folks brought that freebie couch by yesterday...due to a mis-measurement it didn't fit in the door after all. *Grumble* So, I'm lying on the floor to work today, and M intends to go couch shopping this weekend.

Been a while since I gave anyone an update on my recovery...

+My stitches came out 8/27!

+/-Got a cast at the same time, the first one I've had in my life. On the plus side, it's lighter weight than the splint: fiberglass, not plaster. On the negative side....

-There's no give to it, so every time the swelling goes up, it gets too tight, and I wind up ( Read more... )

So, the crutches they gave me in the hospital were somewhat damaged. A slice (read box-cutter) across the entire foot, which I noticed a day or two later, and which has been making me feel like one crutch is shorter than the other. Which is causing the rubber foot to come apart, and that would be bad (TM).

I've been thinking lyrics would be good, and Pink Floyd lyrics in particular. And then I happened across these lyrics:

So one positive thing about spending 24 hours at the dock in Norfolk, VA avoiding the Tropical Storm...

There are scads of gulls here. Seagulls, if you insist. But some of them have the black thumbprint behind the eye that I have come to recognize. One even had a full black head this late in the season. I assume they're flocking up on their southern ( Read more... )
