Saturday morning I had planned on joining an ACA ride for 40ish miles. However, with a long work week, working late on Friday and not getting home and in bed until late Friday night, decided to sleep in a little and just ride on my own.

IM 70.3 NO
Just discovered during lunch that there is an Ironman 70.3 event in New Orleans next year! When did that happen? Anywho, just signed up, and I can hardly stand it. Racing in my home state, in front of family and friends. Can't wait!
I can already taste the post-race hurricane.

Up at 4am and out the door by 4:30. Nutri-grain bar for breakfast. Arrived and parked at One Texas Center (for free, sweet!), grabbed my gear and headed to transition area, ~ 4:45am. Open Water Swim
If every open water swim went like yesterday's, I'd be ecstatic. Although I'm aware that not every race will be wetsuit legal, many races will have waves bigger than 120+ people, and the water will not always be placid as Lake Travis was in the morning.

My first ever Tuesday night Time Trial went well. Probably not as many people as they usually have. I was expecting it to be much different. I guess I had visions of a Tour time trial in my head, with people standing at the start area, a crowd and a clock ticking away at the finish line. None of that. Hardly any fanfare at all. Sunday: Early morning swim at BSP, 1600m @ 34:35. Didn't start off too well, noticed my goggles are on the verge of falling apart, and my Bodyglide crumbled to pieces.
