Engaged to the most handsome male on this planet, well, at least according to him and many other people (specifically his sisters). Just the thought of Yunho proposing to him on that fateful night got him blushing like a school girl.
They had been returning from their…which date was it again? By then, Jaejoong could not longer keep count of the number times they had gone out. Be it picnics, walks or a swim by the lake, Yunho had slowly but definitely charmed his way into Jaejoong’s heart. They had been returning from their whichever number date to a dinner hosted by the Kims for the Jungs.
The outdoor event was filled with fun, food and laughter. Changmin had surely impressed Jaejoong’s sisters with his wit while the senior Jung and senior Kims had exchanged pleasant and not-so pleasant stories about their children.
It was only when it came to the dancing segment of the occasion when the actual excitement began. Yunho had asked for a dance with Jaejoong under the moonlight in the garden where the dinner was held. The dance was beautiful and romantic; Yunho had proved to be a great dancer. However, he proved to be an even greater person when he had gone down on one knee and produced a beautiful ring from his pocket and popped the question at the end of the song.
The moment of silence was overwhelming until Jaejoong got over the shock and squealed out his ‘yes!’. A congratulatory applause sounded through out the garden and a new bottle of champagne was popped.
--
The ring glinted in the sunlight that poured in through the window. Jaejoong didn’t know how a person could so easily find his way to his heart in a matter of a few weeks. Yunho was really something. He had finally made him realize that his feelings for Dongwook-hyung were nothing but merely a childish infatuation. He could clearly remember the jealous the streak that had coursed through Yunho when Dongwook had approached some time ago.
“Ah, Jaejoongie, I didn’t expect to see you here.” Dongwook commented had they had crossed paths in the middle of a street.
“Dongwook-hyung, it’s a pleasant surprise seeing you.” Jaejoong greeted. Dongwook then shifted his gaze from a smiling Jaejoong to a disinterested stranger.
“Oh, forgive me; I forgot to introduce you to Jung Yunho-shii.” Jaejoong said as he motioned towards Yunho. Both males acknowledged each other with a stiff nod. “Yunho-shii has arrived from the eastern lands to our humble town. Please take care of him.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Yunho-shii.” Dongwook greeted with tight lips. He then turned his attention to Jaejoong. “So, Jaejoong, if you don’t mind me asking so suddenly but would you like to go out for dinner sometime?”
“I…uh…I…” Jaejoong was rendered speechless when Dongwook asked him something like this so suddenly.
“Well, I think he minds and so do I since it’s quite obvious that I’m currently dating him.” Yunho spoke up and took Jaejoong’s hand possessively. “We shall take our leave now.”
Yunho quickly tugged Jaejoong along as they left Dongwook standing alone in the middle of street. Jaejoong was still recovering from the Dongwook’s suggestion and Yunho’s jealous behavior. However, he could not help but let a silly grin plastered over his face when he realized Yunho’s feelings for him.
“Yunho-shii…I….” Jaejoong was cut off as he felt a warm pair of lips upon his own. It was probably the sweetest moment ever. Hot mouth against his own. Tongue against tongue. It tasted like a slice of heaven. A spicy mix of vanilla and cinnamon. It seemed to last an eternity.
When the kiss ended, Jaejoong was left in a daze. It might not have been his first kiss but it was definitely the best he had ever experienced.
“I really like you, Jaejoong, I do.” Yunho confessed, pushing his forehead against Jaejoong’s, his warm breath fanning against Jaejoong’s thoroughly kissed lips.
“So do I.” The moment was sealed with a kiss yet again.
--
Jaejoong blushed at the thought of the kiss. Kissed and engaged. Wasn’t love all about laughter and sunshine? Well, it seemed like it was.
The wedding day was set. It was about month from now. This was why Yunho had to return home. Jaejoong had pouted when his mother had told him that Yunho could no longer see Jaejoong a month prior to the wedding for it would inauspicious if they did. The Jungs had decided to pay their homeland a visit before the wedding to spread the good news and ready the place for Jaejoong’s arrival. They had planned two separate ceremonies whereby one would be held in Jaejoong’s hometown and the other in Yunho’s. The travelling was too great for either parties to come together and have one ceremony. Hence the reason they were holding two. It would be a final goodbye to Jaejoong’s family once the ceremony ended in Jaejoong’s hometown. The ceremony in Yunho’s home would mark Jaejoong’s official arrival and entrance into the Jung family.
“Jaejoong, come out here at once!” Yoonji hollered from below. Jaejoong winced at her sharp voice but complied none the less.
When the Jaejoong reached the living room downstairs, he was greeted with the sight of different colored clothes everywhere and an anxious tailor.
“The ham has been delivered and we have to take your measurements today.” Yoonji explained, her glasses perched at the end of her nose. Seems like she had been doing a lot of calculations. Well, a wedding comes with huge expanses, no doubt.
(The ham is a box of silk delivered from the groom’s family to make the bride’s hanbok)
“It has been delivered! Let me see!” Jaejoong exclaimed he opened the box containing the silk. It was beautiful. The silk was of light colours consisting of pale red, light preach and baby pink.
“The Jungs picked well.” Yoonjin commented as she watched her brother caress the soft silk.
“Well, let’s get you measured or else the ham cannot be put to use.” Yoonji said as she asked the tailor start measuring.
Jaejoong groaned as the tailor maneuvered him around, asking him lift various body parts. Well, maybe not all aspects of a wedding were fun.
--
The month crawled by slowly for Jaejoong, who counted the days down to when he could finally see his beloved while it passed by way too fast for the Kim family. Planning a wedding was a hectic job although they had been through it several times. They had to send out invites, call up the oldest 4 sisters, plan clothing for all 8 sisters and Jaejoong, book the temple, the living space…oh there was so much to do.
The older four sisters had arrived earlier sans their family to help out with the wedding. They couldn’t believe their youngest sibling was tying the knot!
“Do you think we still need some tightening up here?” Hyori asked as she motioned to Jaejoong’s cheogori. Seulgi looked up and down, shaking her head.
“It looks fine to me.” She said, brushing off invisible dust off Jaejoong’s hanbok.
“I’m tired. Can I go to sleep?” Jaejoong asked huffing. He was tired of modeling all the clothes.
“No can do.” Chae young said as she came over while stirring her tea. She was pregnant with her second child and hence was taking extra care of her body.
Jaejoong growled at his sister. “I wonder how you are getting married! You still behave like a child!” Seulgi exclaimed.
“Noona~!” Jaejoong whined yet again. He was getting impatient and tired as more time passed.
“That’s enough whining, Joongie.” Gahee warned him. She had always been his strictest older sister. “Try this one on now.” She commanded as she handed his durumagi.
Jaejoong huffed again and put on his durumagi. Even without the final touches and the sour scowl on his face, Jaejoong looked stunning in his wedding clothes.
“Kya!” Ara squealed. “You look so cute!”
“It’s annoying how he can be a beta-male and yet look better than all of us combined.” Boa commented, though she only said it in humor.
“True that.” Hyojoo agreed.
Then all the 8 sisters circled around Jaejoong while putting their hands on their hips and said, “This is going to be one big wedding!”
--
The Jungs had arrived just 5 days before the wedding. This time they were accompanied by close family and friends to witness the wedding ceremony.
The 8 Kim sisters waited outside their house as they wished to welcome the Jungs to their house, who had come over to discuss some preparations.
When Mr. Jung, Yunho and Changmin stepped out from their carriage; they were greeted by Hyori, Gahee, Chae Young, Seulgi, Yoonji, Hyojoo, Ara and Boa. Saying that the Kim family was beautiful was the understatement of the century. The sisters were truly radiant and flawless. Their sweet smiles upon the Jungs’ arrival almost sent Changmin to the floor. Well, at least Changmin would be proud to call them sister-in-laws five days later. However the jewel of the family was not able to greet them as he had not been allowed to see Yunho until the wedding day.
Well…the great day was arriving very very soon…
