Penelope roused briefly only to feel her head pounding and her belly turning unfavorably. Groaning, she rolled over and pulled the covers over her eyes and desperately tried to will the horrid discomfort away. Last night at work must have been a disaster. Penelope had had an exhausting phone conversation with her mother. Yes she would be home in two weeks. No she would not be staying longer than a week. Just from her shower and wrapped only in a towel, Penelope stared at herself in the mirror after she ran her hand across the wet surface. And just like she always did, she covered her nose with her hand, trying to picture a normal nose there instead.

She also thought she was alone.
