The agency I reviewed grant applications for back in the fall released the list of award recipients last week. This means that I can now shred my paperwork, a whole three-inch binder full, but I decided to look over my reports and see how I matched up with the results ( Read more... )

It stinks that someone you thought did such a poor job won but it must be pretty cool to be able to pull out all the reviews you did and see how they stacked up. Better than that it's great that you were a part of helping award grants to people/projects.

Not so much positive, I just think it's cool that you got to work on a project like that. I could have been negative but I don't typically see political conspiracies behind every decision I disagree with. Alas, I'll try harder to be negative next time :)

Entirely possible, although probably less in the way of getting one's member of Congress involved and more in the way of someone on the final reviewing panel saying, "You guys are picking a lot of film projects and no ephemera projects and we're not leaving until we approve an ephemera project because I'm witholding my votes until then."
