Already fretting over how to pack costumes
So there's the annual Stockholm con this weekend. I'm just dropping by on Sat though, since I have to work at our big Christmas fair on Sunday. Thankfully my sister is down in Uppsala for some Christmas shopping on Sat, so I can go in their car on the way back home. Great weekend
I've had a great weekend, but I'm not exactly well rested for the coming workweek. It actually feels good that I'm having another week with school programs. They are quite exhausting, but I don't need to think so much.

Joy of writing
This week I've really rediscovered how fun writing can be. Sure I've kept my writing going with my blogs, but not much more, and they are a bit of a struggle sometimes. So for quite some time I've really wanted to find a new fandom. SW will always be there, but I've lost touch a bit with the EU since I refused to read anything post-LOTF. I have some hopes for the novels that are coming up in the future, but it's not the same playground for speculation and things like that.

And I've just sent away the order for the chiffon and velvet for the travel gown, I'm going to be really nervous until it arrives.

fabric frustration
I'm getting really frustrated with my attempts at finding the right fabrics for the travel gown. At the moment I'm stuck with a nice looking skirt, material for the lowest part of the sleeves and the ribbons for the drapings. I really hate living in a part of the world where I'm totally dependent on online stores, and online stores that ship within ( Read more... ) -
some progress
So I have ordered quite a few different fabrics lately. Basically everything except the material for the main outer coat. The first batch arrived today, fabric for the lowest part of the sleeve. Now I actually have another fabric on the way for that, but the colour of this fabric perfectly matches the skirt, so I'm thinking this is going to be the ( Read more... ) -
feedback wanted on the travel gown
I think I'm finished with my first mockup now. The next step will be to make a "clean" mockup, that I'll be able to use as a pattern for the final coat. I can't use this mockup since especially the sleeves and the neck part consist of too many seams and alterations. That's also why I haven't added the stand up-collar or stomacher to this mockup.
