Beatles Application: Early Songs

A NOTE TO VOTERS: This is a beatle_stamp themed application! Please stamp as any song by the The Beatles from 1963-1965. This includes all the songs from Please Please Me, With The Beatles, A Hard Day’s Night, Beatles For Sale, Help!, and Rubber Soul, as well as any of their singles from this time period.

01. Name: Blair
02. Age: 18 (19 in April!)
03. Which Beatle are you stamped as? John Lennon. Whatsit to ya?

04. What is your favorite album of this period (Please Please Me through Rubber Soul) and why?  A Hard Day's Night. It's got so many catchy songs. A close second would be Help, due to my fondness for "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away"
05. Do you prefer more John, Paul, George, or Ringo songs? John. Followed closely by George.
06. Describe your musical tastes (besides The Beatles): Streetlight Manifesto meets Holy Ghost Tent Revival meets Bomb The Music Industry meets The Wallflowers meets 311 meets The Mighty Mighty Bosstones? Yeah, I think you get the picture.

07. Do you prefer faster or slower songs? Any type of song suits me. Slower are nicer to just listen to, and faster are fun to dance to.
08. What do you feel about covers? Only if it is done with respect for the original, and it is done well.
09. Do you like music made for movies? Not really. I mean, there may be some exceptions, but I just like it when movies pick amazing pre-existing songs that fit the scene well.
10. How does a great song make you feel? A truly great song can have me crying while smiling, and have my mind totally get lost as I try to break apart the instrumentation and listen to each part. A song that makes me laugh. That type of stuff. I feel amazing when I hear a good song.
11. Why do you listen to music (i.e. to dance, listen to the meaning, etc.)? I love every aspect of music. I'm a music ed major. This is my life. I love hearing the melodies, the meanings, the lyrics, the beat.... it all is love.
12. Name some characteristics of your favorite songs (i.e. sad, dancy, ballad, simple, experimental etc.): Fun dance-worthy songs about daily life- love, finding happiness, friendship, heartbreak.... you name it. I think mostly upbeat though, seeing as I love me some ska, punk, and folksy-hybrid music.

13. What kind of messages are important to you? I think Nick Hexum put it best in the 311 song "Jupiter" - "Stay positive and love your life."
14. What are your feelings about love? Love is pretty amazing, but I'm not in love with love. I'm in love with a person. I do enjoy love songs, if they aren't SUPER cheesy, and really have meaning.
15. Do you consider yourself an optimist or pessimist? Look at my icon, dude. I'm a Monty Python fan. Always look on the bright side of life, Brian.
16. Romantic or Cynic? Both. A good blend.
17. Progressive or Traditional? Eh, both are pretty amazing if they are done well.
