Chapters:
Chapter 1 ,
Chapter 2 Aiba watched Nino strum his guitar with amusement. “Did something happen?”
“What?” Nino looked up sharply. “What makes you think that?”
“Because you only play the guitar when you’re mad or sad.”
Nino shrugged, muttering something about a perverted guy. “It’s just been a while since I played..” He strummed again, slowly going into one of his songs. The guitar really did calm him down though, as well as the piano, but Nino missed his guitar.
He just wouldn’t play it for Ohno, nor anyone else really. Aiba and Jun knew that, so they never asked him to play for them. They just had to be in the same place as Nino if they wanted to hear his guitar playing. (Which meant Aiba could hear it more often, as he was keeping Nino’s guitar at his place for the time being.)
“Nino, does it have to do with your dad..?”
“No, nothing’s happening at home,” Nino murmured.
“Okay, good.” Aiba smiled softly. If it was like that, then it couldn’t have been worse. He hoped. But if it was worse, Nino would probably be too depressed to be able to even play an instrument.
“Hey, have lunch with me tomorrow, okay?”
“Don’t I always?” Nino rolled his eyes, starting to sing along to the music he was able to come up with. Aiba smiled.
--
“Are we going up to the roof?” Nino asked, climbing up the stairs with Aiba the next day. He wouldn’t really mind, but it was getting chilly lately and Nino didn’t have his coat on.
“Nope, here’s good,” Aiba said, reaching the third floor.
“Why..?”
“Here!” Aiba walked over to a classroom, looking in at the third year students. Nino’s suspicions came true as he looked in as well, almost immediately recognizing Ohno sitting with the school’s president.
“Look, there’s Sho-kun,” Aiba pointed out, grinning like a schoolgirl.
“Ah..” Nino’s eyes, however, were fixed on Ohno, munching on a loaf of bread.
“Bread again, Satoshi-kun?” The school president- Sho- chuckled.
“Bread is good!” Ohno pouted. He giggled when Sho pet his head fondly.
“Anyway, here are the notes for history class,” Sho said, handing Ohno his notebook. “You were spacing out like always, even though you should know there’s a test next class.”
“There is?!” Ohno cried out, hurriedly taking out his own notebook and copying down Sho’s notes.
Aiba tugged Nino’s arm, bringing them both into the classroom and walking over to the two upperclassmen.
“Aiba-chan?” Sho noticed them, smiling. “Ah, is that Nino, the guy you were talking about?”
Nino tensed as Ohno’s head turned around. The older boy beamed at the sight of Nino’s face, his eyes lighting up and his teeth showing.
God, he’s actually cute, Nino thought, his heart skipping a beat.
“What did you do, go up to them one day and just make conversation?” Nino hissed softly to Aiba once they were both sitting too. Aiba nodded cheerfully.
As Aiba chatted animatedly with Sho, Nino couldn’t help sneaking Ohno suspicious looks. The guy seemed so normal- quiet, but he didn’t have the kind of creepy perverted aura around him as usual.
“Want some?” Ohno’s somewhat innocent voice interrupted Nino’s thoughts. “The bread- it’s really good,” Ohno said, offering his bread to Nino.
“Ah..” Nino took it and started to eat it without thinking. “It’s good!” Nino said after swallowing a bite. Ohno smiled, making Nino’s heart flutter.
--
Again, Nino was in the music room after school. “It’s like I want to see him now or something,” Nino sighed to himself.
“Me? I feel so flattered.” Nino looked up at Ohno, going into the room with a smirk on his face. Nino didn’t move as Ohno walked slowly over to him, the smirk never leaving. “You look cute today, Nino,” Ohno murmured once he was in reach. His hands rested on Nino’s hips.
“Two-faced pervert,” Nino muttered darkly. He tried to ignore the hands sliding to his butt as best as he could.
“You’re being awfully nice today,” Ohno said, although there was no hint of surprise. Nino blushed slightly, feeling talented hands squeeze lightly.
Nino did want to punch Ohno, but he couldn’t stop remembering how he spat on Ohno’s face just the other day, and how he was so normal and cute during lunch. So instead, Nino finally moved away from the older student’s prying hands.
“Nino-kun, won’t you play the piano for me?” Ohno moved aside, letting the piano come into view for Nino.
“I...alright.” Nino’s eyes narrowed in suspicion, but he went over to the piano and sat. Ohno stood behind him. “Any song is good?”
“Mm, go ahead.” Ohno put his hands on Nino’s shoulders lightly as he started to play. Nino’s fingers were talented as they flew across the keys- anyone would be amazed by it.
“That’s not very good, is it?” Ohno said in the middle of his playing. He rested his chin on Nino’s head, as if in disappointment.
Well, okay, unless they were someone named Ohno Satoshi who could instantly tell that Nino wasn’t playing with much passion.
Frowning, Nino doubled his efforts. He shivered, feeling Ohno’s long fingers touch the sides of his neck.
“Why did you stop?” Ohno whispered, his breath ghosting over Nino’s ear.
“I can’t play with you breathing all over me like that,” Nino said, blushing.
“Not being very skilled, are we now?”
Nino gasped, feeling something wet- Ohno’s tongue- slide over his nape slowly. “Get off me,” Nino muttered, his body tensed.
“You haven’t finished the song yet,” Ohno said softly. Nino didn’t think he’d be able to play well with the sweaty hands he had, but if it was the only way to get Ohno off of him... So Nino continued to play- clumsily- until he finally managed to finish lamely.
Ohno chuckled softly, and Nino shrugged him off, embarrassed. Why did he even agree to play the piano for Ohno of all people.
Saved with the door opening, Nino turned in unison with Ohno to see who it was. “Jun!” Nino tilted his head slightly. Jun rarely entered the music room- this could have been the first time even.
“Ah, there you are,” Jun said, smiling at Nino. He glanced at Ohno and inclined his head in greeting. “Um, Aiba said he wants us to hang out at his house today. Are you busy now?”
“N-”
“Yes, Nino needs to practice his piano a bit more,” Ohno interrupted. Nino flushed, getting off the chair and going to Jun’s side.
“I’m fine for today, thank you, Ohno-senpai,” Nino said stiffly. He took Jun’s hand in his and almost ran out, not letting go until they were outside.
“Nino, you don’t have to hold it so tightly!” Jun snatched his hand back to himself, rubbing it.
“Sorry, sorry,” Nino said, not sounding it at all.
Jun raised his eyebrows at Nino’s back, which was hurriedly going to Aiba’s house. Sure Nino had a temper, but he hadn’t ever seen Nino so mad and flustered at the same time. It had to do with Ohno- Nino even asked Aiba about him not too long. What their relationship was though, Jun didn’t know.
“Nino...Does Ohno know you play the guitar..?”
Nino stopped shortly, almost having Jun bump into him. He was silent for a while, then, softly, “I don’t know. I-I think so. But...I don’t want to prove it to him.”
Jun sighed internally. He put a comforting hand on Nino’s shoulder. “Nino, you know what you’re doing is cowardly?”
“I’m not!” Nino turned around quickly, his eyes wide and fearful. Jun winced. “What if I did play the guitar for him? What if he went around telling people? What if my dad finds out..?” His eyes traveled down to his feet, as Jun brought him into a tight hug.
Jun hated to see Nino like this. But he also hated to see him so closed up in himself- he shouldn’t have only two friends that he could talk to.
He should have someone he could love. That was what he was being cowardly about.
“Ohno-san doesn’t seem the kind to rat you out,” Jun murmured, patting Nino’s back soothingly.
“You have no idea,” Nino sighed a little sadly. He wriggled out of the hug and managed a smile. “Come on, you know how Aiba gets impatient.”
--
Nino was playing the guitar again, singing one of his songs. He was probably going to be playing it a lot these days, if Ohno kept on continuing to harass him the way he was now.
Jun was helping in the kitchen. Nino hadn’t noticed Aiba slip away at one point. Nino should be alone, then. So when he finished the song, looked up and saw Ohno leaning in the doorway, he had all the right to drop his guitar.
Fuck.
nextA/N: Sorry to keep you all waiting about why Nino won't play the guitar for outside people. It must come when the time is right~ (Which..I don't know when that will come.) But I gave you some hints this time. 8'D
The next chapter miight come out just a bit late? I must work on Aiba's birthday/Christmas stuff (fanfics?) and hopefully post them and not think they're too bad to show like what I did with Ohno's birthday. xD
