The Beeblebox household is heading full speed towards the 21st century. We now have the internet at home which is very exciting because as I type this I am also watching CSI (it is possible to only give it 20% of my attention and still work out who the killer is) I love modern technology.

We have welcomed a new member in to the Beeblebox household. Mabel Doomblaster. She is a 1 year old black and white cat who is 90% fluff. I am not entirely sure where the Doomblaster came from but it was agreed upon several months ago after more than several pints of beer.  I see her as being more than a cat, I see her as a huge sign that we are ( Read more... )

This week has been an exciting week because the good people here have voted on an amendment that would have terminated the city's anti-discrimination laws. My attempts at socializing with the natives have for the most part been successful. I have met some lovely people but I do have a sneaking suspicion that most people in my age group are at home raising their offspring. As I think it is wrong to have a child to boost your social life, I will stick to adventure clubs and meet-ups.

At the weekend I was talking to a Floridian about food and she said that she just loved biscuits and gravy. I didn’t even try and hide my disgust at the thought of eating cookies covered in a meat based sauce. On Wednesday I arrived in the US and after one slightly worrying moment when the visa people escorted me off into a small windowless room, it has all gone well. So far I have:
Watched the Super bowl
Gathered air potatoes
Removed a dead roach from my house
Been slightly sunburnt

I started saying goodbye to people about a month ago. When I was saying an emotional goodbye to a couple of Andy's friends who I only see occasionally but I have become a big fan of, one of them said to me "You see us once or twice a year. You will probably still see us once or twice a year."

Next Wednesday I pack up my last few belongings and move to from England to Florida. I will be moving with Andy, my husband, whose job is the whole reason for our move.
