Back in snowy England with Mr B's parents who are spoiling us. Catching up with old friends, life is good. I thought that it would feel strange being back but I feel as if I have just slotted back in.

Today I said goodbye to our friend Matt who stayed with us for a week. I managed to say goodbye with only two hugs and only a couple of tears which was a vast improvement on when I had to say goodbye to him in January. The lack of visitors during the school holiday/rainey season has meant that my life in America has settled down into some sort of routine. In July I am trying to write 50,000 words to give my novel (working title Keeping The Hippos Away) the kick start it needs. I am not allowed to make edits, just write what comes into my head and sort it out later. Last night I was at home by myself while waiting the return of Mr. Beeblebox who was being winded and dined by a business associate when there was a knock at the door. This week the pool at the end of my road began opening its door at 5:30am so those of us who feel inclined to do so (about 4 of us) can swim 50m laps before going about the rest of the day. Looking back over my past entries I realize how rubbish I have been at blogging. Hopefully all that should change when my shiny new laptop arrives but looking a FedEx tracking it seems to have got stuck somewhere and now won’t be with me until tomorrow.  Plus my life is finally settling into a routine so I am getting better at managing my time.
