What a fabulous chapter. I like that Sam called Mary out on her behavior and was trying to get her to talk to Dean--because she needs to do that, she needs to take responsibility for what she did to Dean, how badly she screwed him up.

And then that ENDING was so awful and so good! Dean was kidnapped right under their noses, OMG. I'm dying to find out what happens next! <333

In my darker moments, I have this highly amusing mental image of a wide shot of Mary and Sam arguing in front of the window while we can see Dean getting silently and fairly comically abducted in the background.

Thanks! And yes, Mary seriously needs to get her head out of her ass. But then, she really is a Winchester, whatever she says. . . .

Part of what I love about the show is the realism in the details of characterization, both good and bad, for the main characters. So, naturally, I tried to pull that realism into this AU, especially in the character of Mary.

I love the idea that, if the tables were turned, she'd end up just as screwed up, stubborn, and infuriating to Sam as John would. . . .
