Oh, and I forgot to add that I'm going to be dowloading yahoo on this computer (I had to take my dad's after all) pretty soon, but I think I'm probably going to have to get everyone's names again :(
Oh, sob. Did anyone else randomly feel like they were going to burst into tears when they started college?
It'll be fine, don't worry. I think I broke down and cried 3 times my first week at school. Give it time and you'll adjust. Just remember that everyone is in the same boat as you are. No one else has their best friends there with them.
Yeah, I was never homesick (as in missing my family) because I went to college in my hometown and my family was interfereing, but I was VERY lonely for a while because all of my friends had gone out of state, or were a year behind me. It's true that it relly helps to get out and meet people in your dorm, go to local coffee joints and meet some people there. I made the mistake of being a bit of a recluse for the first couple of months, and it just made me lonelier.
College can be a huge adjustment, but in the end it is SUCH a great experience. The pangs gradually get smaller as you build a slightly different life for yourself, and eventually you find a nitch and can be perfectly comfortable.
I haven't had the "pleasure" to experience this sort of thing yet, but don't worry too much about it. You'll settle down in no time. :) Go out there and socialize, tiger.
