Holy crap.  Robin McKinley, Tamora Pierce, and Jasper Fforde are all writing pep talks for NaNoWriMo this year!  Maybe I will find motivation, after all!  Squee!!

Which is good, because after getting ahead yesterday I'd really rather just eat pizza and sleep tonight...  Bah.

I gave out candy to 4 kids.  4.  Tiny kids.  I mean, Halloween = Free Candy.  I repeat:  Free.  Candy.  'Nuff said.

I weep for the species.

An hour left until I can cram out some fiction and go to bed.  Bah.  The beginning's always the worst.

Oh, dear, November starts tomorrow, so I'll be back to not having free time again.  That is, all my free time will be going towards hammering out the mad fictions until December arrives.  I know I can do 50,000 words in a month from last year's win, but the hours at work are longer this year, so the challenge will be to pull the 50K out of my brain ( Read more... )

I came, I saw, I canned.

The unrepentant mound of tomatoes from the farm share are now cooling in jars of our first experimental batch of spaghetti sauce and salsa, with a couple small pans of vegetarian lasagna in the freezer (and in our bellies).

The aftermath of NaNoWriMo is leaving me with guilt from unrevised fiction, and I find myself thinking more in line with the story than with cheerful holiday thoughts.  *sigh*  This weekend I really need to get my presents figured out, too.  Maybe once that's under control I'll have some time (and brainbandwidth) to get some more first-pass ( Read more... )

So I forgot to include one of the two big daily files from the second day of NaNoWriMo in my word count.  Happily, I just discovered this when stitching things together for an official word count on the site, so I magically have 2K more than I'd thought.  Huzzah!  Even after 2 days of gaming and TV, I'm about on track.  Two big days or three solid ( Read more... )
