So, after a long winter vacation, I'm back in Japan and back to work. I had a great time back home relaxing with the family and playing with the nephews. Well, I'm back in Plano now for Christmas. The flight wasn't too horrible. I wasn't able to get an aisle seat, but it overall wasn't too bad. I slept pretty well last night, but got up pretty early this morning. The next couple of days I have to get my Christmas shopping done too ( Read more... )

Well, I've now been in Yokohama for a month now. Everything's been going really well. I'm finally feeling settled in. Also, work has been going really smoothly. It feels like I've been working there for a long time (but in a good way). I get along great with everyone there and the students are all pretty nice too ( Read more... )

I got back to Japan a couple of days ago and am certainly still feeling the jet lag. I'm slowly getting settled into my apartment as well. I did a little shoping to pick up some small items needed for my apartment, but I still need to find a comforter for my bed as well. One other thing I realized is that I NEED a bicycle soon. It was a long, long trip, but I'm finally back in Dallas. It was made a little better by the fact that I somehow got upgraded to business class from Japan to LA. THAT was really nice. Of course, I made up for it by being stuck in the middle seat on a small plane from LA to Dallas ( Read more... )

One of the big holidays in Japan is called Golden Week. Basically its just a time in the Japanese calendar where a bunch of holidays all hit right next to each other.
