I'm so glad someone liked that line! I've definitely been in Kirk's position and I think a lot of people have and it's tough knowing that you're alone but are afraid of rejection and coming off as needy.

Awww, how sweet! And it totally made me giggle that the continued rejection from the mighty Vulcans makes Spock rebel in this universe, too, only later on. XD

He reminds me of TOS Spock's reasons for joining the Enterprise, to show Vulcans that he could live and serve with humans for years and still be a perfect Vulcan. I figured this Spock is like that except worse because he's been a perfect Vulcan for years now without even rebelling and yet they still aren't accepting him.
