And the secret project starts to look like something
Something like two months of designing, and now a few days in the shop spaced over two weeks, has finally produced something that might eventually end up being something.

This past winter almost entirely consisted of light jacket weather (except for that week of below-zero freezing rainy crap when my truck's heater wasn't working). I fully expected this summer to be excrutiatingly hot to make up for it. And the secret project is "Go!"
So, I've been planning a secret project for the last week or so. Said project requires my friend Bill's help, because he has a workshop and knows how to weld, and I don't. :) We had lunch today, and he thinks it sounds like fun and he has the free time needed. Zoo life
I went to the local zoo Monday, with some friends of mine and a gaggle of one friend's church friends. It was interesting to see the (relatively) new gorilla exhibit finally, and they've put in larger cages for the jaguar and leopard since the last time I was there as well. I blame my parents...
... for giving me these mutant eyes. In my left eye, the correction is almost entirely for astigmatism. The angle of the correction is 15 degrees. Contact lenses come in 10 degree increments. Thus, it's impossible to get clear vision in that eye. The doctor is going to try something else, but odds are it's not going to work wither. Looks like ( Read more... ) -
Contact lenses seem to hate me.
I'm sick of my glasses, I hate having to clean them off all the time, they drive me nuts. So to fix this, I got contact lenses last week Monday. And things were blurry. Very blurry. Five Thousand Dollars
Five thousand dollars. That's the estimate to fix the hail damage on my truck. Considering that's also just a little below the blue-book value of the truck, I half expect the insurance company is going to total it out and I'll be buying a new car. Whee. -
And now, the post-semester crash
It happens every spring. I frantically rush to get everything done at the end of the semester, classes end, and I'm left with nothing. Empty. All my hobbies have been put on hold to finish my classwork, and now I can't find any desire to start up with them again. Life happened, and Unisystem
The Star Wars game I was running went on hiatus due to my course load putting me in "mind-bogglingly busy" mode. I don't have the mental bandwidth available to run it and get all my class projects and homework done.
