Hey bini-bini, thanks for friending me! I'm so excited about becoming a teacher and until I can get into a classroom for some work experience I'm going to have to make do with your and warcat's tales from the chalkface!
I'll get to spend a few weeks in a primary school when I do my postgrad course in education before going on to deal with the lovely teenagers of modern Britain (mmmm) and my boyfriend and mother are both primary/nursery teachers so I should be able to relate to most of what you do.

I'd love to do a teaching exchange - perhaps you and my boyfriend could do the exchange and I could find something in a secondary school nearby. Are you out in the bush or in a city? I heard that Aussie teachers have to do two years in the wilderness before you can head for the big cities - is that true?!

Family ties do bind, don't they? My parents are both teachers too. The two year deal is a bit of an outdated concept but often graduates DO spend some time in country service as they are more likely to win full time and permanent positions that way but you are not bonded or even obliged to go bush.

I'm studying and working part time in the city at the moment but am plannning to head to Darwin come June. Technically a city but definitely a country town feel.

Bit of this, bit of that!! Nothing really, just funny to hear her talk about people I know virtually but that she knows in real life.
We Australians are chronic abbreviators aren't we? Bangers, the Phils. Makes it sound so familiar and friendly :).
