I promised photos from my "trip" to Heathrow. Didn't see many planes but did see the fantastic new Terminal 5. It was an early start and I'm not as tired as I thought I'd be. Just a bit dazed I think.

It's pretty impressive, with a nearly completely unsupported roof. If you're in an engineering mood, you can have a read here!

I love the fountain. Looks like it was made for kids on a hot summer day - or is it fenced off? I hope not... The self portrait in the mirror is cool, too... Good you had a nice day off.

No! The fountain wasn't fenced off! I predict lots of hot and sticky travellers running through it. :D It would have been a good day off if I'd actually seen some planes, but oh well, they'll be other trips!

Cool pictures...I especially like the first one with the fog/mist...kind of reminds me of early morning in northern California.

This post reminded me of something I've been wanting to do for you for a while. I live pretty close to an international airport and I've been meaning to get my camera and get my mom to drive me around while I take pictures of planes because I know you like planes and it would probably cheer you up, but sadly, I haven't gotten around to that...I'll probably take my camera on the bus when school starts again...the way the bus comes home is on a road right along airport property.

Oh, that would be great! Thank you so much sweetheart. :) I'm on a major flight path here between London, Coventry and Birmingham so I sit out there on sunny nights watching them..

I am. :) Kind of, sort of. I'm in Leicester, well just outside of it anyway. :) Just moved back after 3 years in Carlisle.
