Dreamwidth?

Okay, I went ahead and started one, with all of the fun stuff that the new owners are doing. Anyone that's moved there already, I'm also blackavar there.What are the current thoughts on imports? Are people here on LJ bothered by a comments-included import to Dreamwidth? I don't really have a lot of locked entries, but I'm certainly willing to

i think this whole thing will backlash on LJ in 3... 2 ... 1...

and it will go away pretty quickly. because EVERYONE is freaking out. i like LJ and i want to stay, i hope if people go somewhere else they will consider at least crossposting to LJ so i can keep up w/ them (since i use facebook for games only and rarely REAL conversation - by the way thank for being an awesome Frontierville buddy, if there is ever anything you need in that game add it to your wishlist and i'll do my best to get it for ya - i'm so hooked on that stupid game it's silly).

Agreed, and there's nine years of history here, including friends and acquaintances that have passed on and can't make choices about their information anymore. I don't want to move, but the current set of owners are doing a lot of not-so-ideal stuff.

I pretty much view FB/Twitter/Tumblr as essentially public, and LJ feels slightly more private sometimes.

yeah, i don't want to be listed anywhere on FB with any comment :( i was upset to see the FB ticky box appear last week here.

despite that fact, i grabbed a code anyway. thanks...

i don't intend on moving- not only because i have a permanent account and have for about 10+ years, but because i like it; it's small and comfy. i always wonder if i the every year or so panic about LJ means i should be mirroring this stuff somewhere else. sigh.

I never plan to tie anything on FB to any journal, be it here or on Dreamwidth. The reason I ask about comments is that Dreamwidth has an option to import the entire journal, comments and all. Comments are important, so it would be nice to move them to keep the thread going if I import. However, I don't want to move comments from people that don't want any of their content anywhere but LJ.
Dreamwidth is actually much smaller than LJ (575K accounts and ~50K actives versus 14 million accounts and about a million actives) It's the open LJ code forked and run in a small-company way, closer to when LJ's servers were living in the cage next to us and I'd regularly meet people dropping by to work on them.

I'm still dreamingcrow on there, since I got it when they were in beta. Most everyone I know is cross-posting the posts between the two. I don't have a problem with my comments being imported, though I don't know how others would feel.
