I keep running into these odd job placement scams or semi-scams while applying. You'll see a perfectly legitimate job opportunity, fire off an email, and then be inundated with a bunch of sign-here kind of nonsense. My essay-writing talents for this weekend were consumed the process of doing some actual work, editing a technical manual for a local company. Nothing worth writing about at the moment, so we'll give it a pass for now.

Got my car back today. Apparently a belt had broken in one of the tires, which was relatively inexpensive to replace. I hope that is the last of the trouble with it for a while- I am going to need it pretty soon for interviews and work attendance.
