Now, I know I didn't wish you a happy birthday, and I know you know why.
Because which birthday of yours do I celebrate exactly? The one I can remember. And which one is that? Oh yeah, MAY 1!
So none of this dosi "English-birthdays-don't-count" business, missy, because I am going to call you on Monday and that is FINAL! And if you don't want to acknowledge it, then you can just NOT take the stupid phone and NOT talk to me and NOT hear me wish you a NOT happy birthday with NOT many more years of health and happiness. Got it?
I'm not against Hebrew birthdays, by the way. You know that, right? It's just that I tell time the English way, and I use English calendars, and it's a lot easier for me to remember May 1 than it is to remember Kaf-tet Nisan. (Kaf-tet, Nisan!) And I know you're not really against English birthdays, either, except of course for your "dosi tendencies"...
Happy Hebrew birthday you dos you! I'll speak to you soon...(and I think you know when...)
Wait, when are you going to call? I missed something. I can't think of any significant day that's coming soon. Oh! You're calling Monday, because it's erev yom haatzmaut, right? Now I see! Wow, that's pretty mamlachti of you. Thanks, I can't wait!
