Saturday Lawson and I served at the Memphis Children's Home during their annual Fall Fest. We supervised any children who used the gym for basketball, air hockey and table tennis. Well I didn't go on my expedition to Kansas Labor Day weekend. The plane was supposed to leave at 7:30pm Friday night and got delayed until 9pm when they informed the passengers that we were going to be switched to another plane. I haven't written in a while. This week has been busy and just flew by. Besides instructing kids, I helped Lawson's sister move her "stuff" into a moving van last night. After one week and a half of teaching, I've discovered that one-on-one teaching is very different from a whole classroom of students.  The plus side is there is no take-home work due to the fact that all the paperwork is confidential and therefore remains at school in a special room.  Also, I am primarily an English teacher which I love to teach ( Read more... )

Today, after working with a student, I had the most interesting conversation with an eight year old. He had been riding his dirt bike and took a dive off of it. The result?
