I HATE April Fool's Day. HATE it. HATEHATEHATE. FUCKING. HATE.

STOP TRYING TO BE FUNNY AND GO BACK TO NORMAL, COWORKERS/FAMILY/INTERNET.

So, I got a stellar performance review and a pretty good raise - "pretty good" here meaning "less than I was secretly hoping for, but much more than I told myself they'd offer," so I'm pleased enough to have gone RIGHT out and spent way too much winning an ebay feeding frenzy for ( this adorableness: )

Things are so fucked at work right now. They're letting so many people go in the name of "restructuring" a.k.a. cost-cutting, which I understand and all, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. If you ever have the opportunity to serve jury duty in Brooklyn: DO IT. I was summoned to the courthouse on Monday and went with much pissing and moaning, most of it from my boss, not to mention the nervous memory of a coworker who, having been selected to serve on a case last year, was out of the office for a month. 8am, I show up way too early ( Read more... )
