All in all, life is good.  School is going well.  I'm loving being a kindergarten teacher, and I already have a project going with one of my classes.  I've definitely enjoyed the long weekend though.  Got lots of rest and finally (mostly) kicked the cold that I've been fighting since the beginning of last week.  Not much else to update on.  Life's ( Read more... )

I have officially completed my first first day of school as a teacher.  It went great!  My kids listened, followed directions, had some good questions...all in all, I couldn't have asked for a better first day, especially since most of my kiddos have never been to school before.  Hopefully the first day with my other class goes as well tomorrow!

I HAVE A JOB!!!!!  I'm sooooo excited!  I went in today for an interview that resulted in a "hi, how are you, oh you nanny, tell me about the kids you nanny for," conversation followed by, "So I called you in here today to offer you a job."  Hooray!  And it's not just any teaching job, it's my dream job.  The grade level I want (kindergarten) in ( Read more... )

I feel like there have been a lot of shootings lately.  There were two in Indy last Saturday night, one or two more during the past week, and then the sniper shootings on I-65 last night/today, as well as some shootings on I-69 this weekend.  This makes me sad, not only for the victims and their families, but for the shooters themselves, as they ( Read more... )

It's been a good day.  A really good day. =)

Went to see Les Miserables last night with the roommate.  Amazing.  It was a great show, and it definitely didn't hurt that we got free tickets so we just had to pay for parking.  And by free tickets, I mean we were sitting in the exact center about 15 rows from the stage.  Great seats.  Amazing show.

So I've decided that this whole becoming a new resident of a state thing is more difficult than it really needs to be.  Just to get my driver's license I have to take a writtent test and fill out some forms.  To transfer my car I have to fill out more forms and apply for a title and lots of other fun things.  Oh, and I have to get my car inspected ( Read more... )

My summer so far has consisted of:

Nannying around 4 or 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, for some great kids

Reading lots of books for pleasure

Purchasing and (almost entirely) viewing season 3 of Gilmore Girls

Helping Christina with wedding stuff and generally being super excited for the big day!  Only 6 more weeks (since it's technically Saturday)!
