Sooooo excited!  Kelli has officially moved in down the street!  We're neighbors, and within short walking distance of each other.  I can sort of see her front door from my window!  This is gonna be such an awesome summer (and year).  Hooray!

How in the world did I accumulate so much stuff?  While I was cleaning out my room at my parents' house a couple weekends ago, I threw a bunch of stuff away and had several bags to drop off at Goodwill.  When I cleaned out my room in the residence hall, I also threw a lot of stuff away or gave a lot of stuff away.  But as I've been unpacking stuff ( Read more... )

I'm officially a college graduate!!!!  It's still sinking in, even though graduation was yesterday.  Craziness.  I can't believe four years went by so quickly.  It was super cold and rainy yesterday (the coldest May 13th in Indy in something crazy like 50 years), but graduation made it a great day.  I'm sad that chapter of my life is over, but I'm ( Read more... )

Just got back to Schwitzer after working on stuff at my new townhouse.  We now officially have a shower curtain, bathroom rug, soap dispenser, and toothbrush holder.  We got the liner cut for all the drawers and most of the cabinets.  About half the dishes have been washed (hooray for having a dishwasher!) and put away.  My parents are coming ( Read more... )

Yesterday was my last day of student teaching.  It hasn't really sunk in yet.  Not only was it my last day of student teaching, but when I walked out of school yesterday afternoon, it meant that I was finished with college.  Graduation is a week from today.  And then that's it.  So weird.  It's amazing how quickly four years went by.  I remember ( Read more... )

Being finished with my thesis feels weird.  Granted, it also feels as if a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.  But by the same token, this is something that I've been working on for almost a year and a half, researching and reading and writing.  It's like now it's finished, and I'm not quite sure what to do now that I no longer have that ( Read more... )

So 6 interviews on one day (5 of them within a two hour period) take a lot of energy. I'm exhausted. But on the up-side, I did get 6 interviews with 5 different school districts, and they went really well. I look like a chimpmunk.  My mouth and jaws still hurt.  My throat hurts.  I've been living on a diet of applesauce, Jello, and mashed potatoes since Thursday.  Today I tried a little bit of chicken, but found that chewing primarily with your front teeth is rather difficult.  This afternoon is the first time that I've been able to stand up for more ( Read more... )
