I blame you for my "Dog Whisperer" fixation. I once spent an entire phone call talking to my Mom about what new miracle Cesar had wrought on a poor, misunderstood doggie.

My cat hated Swheat Scoop. I gave it a shot because I love the smell and it seemed better on a lot of fronts. Dinah turns up her tail at anything that's not teeny-tiny, dust cloud-producing clay litter. If only there was a cat whisperer!

I really miss posting. The times that I think about what or how to post are when I'm in the car, and then I can't write anything down. I should consider a little digital recorder, so I can transcribe when I'm in the office, before anyone else comes in.

When I see German Shepherds, I think of you.

You recapped the past nine months in verse
Poetic, descriptive and terse
I wanted to try
Out a clever reply
But I just couldn't make the last line work no matter what I did.

Rhyming's not so easy, is it?
Hard to think of whosit, whatsit
Together we'd chime
And find words that rhyme
If you would only come and visit

I've emailed you a couple times in the last few months, I think, but never heard back. Do you have a new email? It would be lovely to see you. We're coming to Seattle at the end of this month- are you near Seattle?

I never check that account anymore.

Try me at dougkelso@yahoo.com.

I'd love so see you in Seattle (I'm in Portland, but I have friends there), but I'm heading to New York at the end of this month. So unless your travel date is sometime before the 29th...

Actually, we're arriving the evening of the 27th, and are staying at my uncle's, and using his car. It just really worked out that way. So, we're available the 28th, but that might be cutting it too close for you. Let me know if that works. If we can twist Astra's arm and have dinner...

I love this form of life-recapping. However, you spring this arrhythmia thing right in the middle, as if we won't notice it! Everything's okay, right?

Now that I found the miracle of coenzyme Q10, it is! The arrythmia started with a light flutter and a skipping of about 1 in 10 beats, and progressed to the point where it felt like a tiny fist was punching the inside of my chest, and a little hand was squeezing my throat. After wearing a holter, seeing the cardiologist, and getting a stress test (is that the treadmill?), the cardiologist said it was normal PVCs and maybe it would just go away. The only other option was a drug that might make me tired, and, I thought, great, all I need is to be more tired than I already am, making me even less motivated ( ... )

I saw that there was going to be a two-hour Dirty Jobs special! I almost recorded but I think I was swamped at that point. But of course I thought about you. How was it? Did he take off his shirt?

New Meerkat Manor in a couple of weeks!

The movies still make me upchuck

But that's what's so great about them! So bad they're good, I'm telling you. Especially Mammoth.

I hope Mr. Bol's dad is doing okay, aside from the whininess. It does sound like your plants are doing well, to which I say YAY.

I like your poems. :)
