I think that we can all agree that this community has been dead for the past few months.
What happened here, guys? We're all exciting, friendly, passionate people!
I for one believe that it's time to resurrect booklisters and become a true community again.

How shall we do this, you ask?

Favorite TV Shows/Movies: I've never been big on television and movies. I'm pretty prone to motion sickness, so going to the theatre just isn't an option for me. But I do love: Firefly, My Hero, the Red Green Show, Whose Line Is It Anyway? (Clive Anderson Version), Penn & Teller's Bullshit, Win Ben Stein's Money, and Little Mosque on the Prairie.
Favorite Music: They Might Be Giants, John Coltrane, David Sanborn, Frank Ticheli, and Broadway showtunes
Hobbies: I love to knit, crochet, row on my school's crew team, and (attempt to) bake.
Other: I'm currently writing my undergraduate thesis on ecofeminism.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has to preface "bake" with "attempt to". ^_^* I can handle brownies, but anything more complicated usually requires pre-packaged, ready to bake materials.

I love to cook, but it just seems like there's always something that goes wrong. The other night, my boyfriend and I messed up rice crispy treats! How does that even happen?

Oooh. Diane Duane. I haven't read any of her work in a long time... Good stuff.

I've been watching "Farscape" on Netflix. So far, off to a good start.

What is your picture from?

The animation, you mean? It's from Merlin, which I take to be a cracky retelling of the Arthurian saga.

About Me:

Small business owner, writer, anime otaku, and Atlus fangirl. I like martial arts and otherwise don't get out much.

Name: Tiki
Age: 24
Occupation: Asian bodywork practitioner (translation: I do massage.)

Books

Favorite Author/Book: I don't pick favorites. It's an exercise in futility. I'll just start listing every book I've ever read and really, really liked. Though, I will say Diane Setterfield's The Thirteenth Tale was remarkable for quality storytelling.

Least Favorite Book: I have a love/hate relationship with Harlequin romance novels and the Twilight books. They are SO TERRIBLE and SO UNREALISTIC and yet for some reason, I have them cover to cover. I know, I know. I have no excuse.

Book I Am Currently Reading: A giant pile :-/ A few martial arts books, Good Omens, I, Vampire by Jody Scott. I've got a shelf of books I've either started or have been meaning to read and just haven't finished yet ( ... )

Hello fellow anime fan! I loved Ouran too! Oh, and Tori Amos!

:D Yaaaaay! Have you been reading the Ouran manga? I sometimes wish the animators had waited a little longer and made the anime 39 episodes or something -- bring it closer to an ACTUAL resolution. It's darling as it is, though. Who's your favorite host?

Occupation: IT consultant. Or, as I like to call it, Professional Geek.

Books

Favorite Author: Lucy Maud Montgomery
Favorite Book: Impossible to pick just one! A possible top three would be Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear by Walter Moers and Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card - but that still leaves out so many wonderful books!
Least Favorite Book: Lord of the Rings by Tolkien. Not that it's horrible, but people are always completely shocked when they hear I didn't like it, and that's getting REALLY old. Least Favourite Book That Nobody Has Ever Heard Of, So It Doesn't Matter Anyway: The Christmas Wish by Karen Farrel Jaworski. You can see my review here.
Book I Am Currently Reading: The Count of Monte Christo by Alexander Dumas.

Life Outside of Reading (Is there such a thing?)

I have! I loved that one too, and was very hard pressed to pick which one of them should go on this list! I love his humour.

Have you read any of his other books? I'm very keen to, but haven't been able to find any of them yet.

I ordered Rumo and his Miraculous Adventures off Amazon, and it is waiting for me on my bookshelf at this very minute! Supposedly it also takes place in "Zamonia" and some of the characters even overlap. I'm excited to read it but need to finish what I've got on my plate already. I think most bookstores only carry the two we have read, so you might need to look online to find the others. Cheers.
