in the end you have to do what is best for you and your career. i have major issues with loyalty too and weighing the pros and cons..i'm sure they would understand! you have a master's degree! certainly your vacant position at the daycare will help some other ECE get their feet wet? xo
You are very right about that last point... that position could start someone off on their career of choice, while I'm just hanging around in the interim. When I said at the begining that I had mostly made up my mind, I meant in the direction of not committing. I guess a big part of the reluctance is this is the first full timeish type work I've had since I graduated and I'm not excited to go back to indefinite, constantly changing work. Oh wellsy... thanks for the advice!
Yikes. This is a tough decision. I think you have to go with the one that will have longer lasting positive results. If you get the supply teaching in the "real" schools how long would this potentially be for? You said you're not sure if you'll get many hours...maybe you can help out at the daycare and be a really flexible floater without a contract? And I'm sure, since you have such great co-workers, you can keep in touch outside of work if you should get really busy with your other job.
