I turns out extreme heat increases the funny quotient of everyday words. Yesterday afternoon as we were struggling to find something for 46 kids to do that wasn't in the direct sun, didn't involve moving too much, and wasn't inside our sweltering lodge we introduced the game "Sausage"! I just went for the best run ever. I guess hiatuses are not always for naught. Sometimes they are for great. It was so sunny and hot and my sun screen smelled coconuty as it poured down my back and the rancid on my ipod was perfect and anyways it was pretty spiritual. At 5 pm today summer camp will be half over. Its wonderful.. I mean its wonderful fun being at camp but in many ways its an experience akin to birthing a child... the real joy is the sense of accomplishment felt after its over. Did not go for a run this morning, however I did get out of bed to do French homework. Do you think its strange that I would rather do French homework that go for a run? Just a quick post before I head off to have a bath on a warm and sticky morning. Not bathing for luxurious enjoyment though, bathing because the shower curtains around my claw foot tub are folded and providing henry with a mid-hallway nest. Today I went for my first long run of the season... 10km and I really hadn't lost much in terms of endurance or speed over the winter break. Sweet!
