I liked this a LOT -- it's very visually rich, and I think you did a great job capturing the palette and the "feel" of the show and its effects.

Thank you so much! I think the highest compliment you can pay a vid effects-wise is the idea that the vidder's influence blends in with the source, so I appreciate that it comes across that way. Glad you liked it!

Hee shiny indeed. I thought the effects you used blended totally seamlessly with the show itself.
I loved the idea behind this as well, and a lot of it felt like a fight to keep the deep down person once it was found....if that makes any sense at all lol
Basically it's awesome, as always ;)

W00t! Thank you!

a lot of it felt like a fight to keep the deep down person once it was found
That does indeed make sense, to me at least. I'm really glad you were able to connect with the concept. It's so rewarding to read something like that. Plus, you know, shiny is good. :)

*reads your notes*

Oh, you *did* some of your own effects work? Because HOLY COW, whatever you did works *seamlessly* with the source footage. *awe*

Favourite bits: your use of Alpha the first couple of times we see him (in Alan Tudyk form), his Active blandness completely failing to hide the menace of his real self from those of us aware of his storyline (especially in the "play along" clip, which is kind of blackly hilarious, IMO *g*); the Whiskey/Doctor Saunders section ("to make it beautiful to live"), which is just *awesome*; the way you used Echo throughout, not only as our narrator/the subject of the song, but as an active person as opposed to just an Active (the clips you used with her interacting with other Actives work very well to show her as a person of strength); ending on the Dollhouse employees' fear and guilt and horror while Echo seems very very...peaceful. *g*

So...basically, this rocks. :)

Aww, thanks! The show's effects were easy enough to duplicate, it just took some time to analyze them and then make sure they didn't look totally out of place.

Ooh, I'm so glad you like that! I wanted the voice at times to be an external voice, kind of putting words in Echo's mouth for her ("she said I'll throw myself away"), because a lot of times that's how the fandom as a whole felt to me. Alpha seemed like the right device for that.

I was also geeking out that you picked out the "beautiful to live" section. :) Was trying to show the contrast in who people really are there. Or as you put it "as an active person as opposed to just an Active". You say it so much better than I can!
