Oh, dear lord, you've done it again.

Do you know how many times I squee when I see a new vid from you in a fandom I watch now?

Seriously, I had multiple fangasms over this. It was (the word I use most when describing your vids) AWESOME. It took my breath away, this is exactly why I watch the show. You have captured it perfectly.

I love you. Seriously.

Off to rec in my journal.

I heart you so much. Seriously Jacqui, nothing makes me feel as good as when you love one of my vids. I definitely need to vid your fandoms more often.

Reading the way you reacted to this makes the whole thing so much more to me. You make me love my vids more. :) Thank you.

This is a thrill ride and a half. I honestly can't tell what's source and what's added effects, but knowing you, I'm leaning toward something like 90% source and 10% added, trusting you to pick out moments in source that the rest of us rarely see and never utilise. But maybe I'm wrong on that count because you did mention you are more effecty than usual with this one. Regardless, it all blends beautifully together.

0:20 - love the speeding up all here.

0:29 - camera roll!

1:32 - love the effect here on the guitar! And the bit with the heart a little bit after. Oooh, and the awesome shower quick stepping through stills, ending with Victor looking over his shoulder. <3

1:59 love this shot, mostly because of the guy's motion after he releases the arrow. Isn't that weird? My eye is automatically drawn to how he looks down and moves away. It's surprisngly perfect.

~2:30s - that look on Topher's face, in particular, is incredibly telling. And I love that jump cut to him looking just so lost.

People will be who they are, and that ( ... )

I'm really glad you enjoyed this one, Nicky. I'm hoping it'll be one that people can enjoy watching on a first view and then get something out of it on rewatch, you know? And your fb made me feel a lot more confident in that.

knowing you, I'm leaning toward something like 90% source and 10% added
You know me well. It was basically just some coloring/lighting work to match the "mindwipe" effects, and then some fly-away overlays that weren't there in source.

Thanks so much for the timestamps. :) The song and source played nicely for the most part, so the musicality seemed to come pretty easily. The only question was how much to emphasize the guitar over those hard beats, and DC was a big help on that front.

Isn't that weird? My eye is automatically drawn to how he looks down and moves away
There's kind of a time toggle bump (in source) that makes him sort of suddenly jump to the left and down, plus the focus shift, so that makes sense.

Here from wily_one24, but that was an amazing vid. The pacing in the footage matched the rushed feel in the song.

I keep watching this over and over again and I cannot get over how good it is. WHat I love the most about your work in general is how it's always both well constructed from a narrative pov, as seamless, dynamic and organic it is from an editing pov. One doesn't overpower the other, it just wonderfully works and never lets you down ( ... )

The way you reacted to this meant so much to me, Alex. I mean, it always does, but especially with this vid. I really poured myself into it, and I feel like it all came through for you. :) The things you said about it made me feel so fulfilled... it made the creative process feel complete, you know?

On TOP of that, I got an amazingly helpful beta from you. I'm so incredibly indebted to you for everything you said and did with this vid. Thank you.

I know it's CVV so it's entertaining, but this is way more than that. I honestly can't believe how GOOD this is
That's *exactly* how I feel about your Thriller vid! So, wow, it's awesome to read that.

Hee. I think this was DC's favorite part. I just saw it *so many* times during the creative process, so it's difficult for me to judge. But I'll try to see it through your eyes.

I particularly like what you did on all the "mmm ooooh" singing thing throughout the vidIt was tough at times to figure out how much to emphasize lyrics or guitar or beat. I'm glad my ( ... )

I haven't watched Dollhouse yet, so no idea what was going on, I was too busy just boggling at the perfect, holistic, stream of images in front of my eyes. The whole way through I just kept thinking "this is so beautiful" and it's so balanced and expertly crafted.

It's awesome that you watched and enjoyed this without knowing the show! I was hoping that it could be visually entertaining in addition to the other stuff. Thank you so much for saying so!
