Yes, I've finally created an LJ account for myself. My primary reasons for doing so were so that I could have the "friends view" page, and because I was tired of friends saying things like "Oh, you didn't hear about foo because the post was friends-locked." As an experiment, post the date of the next blood drive here and see what the effect is on attendance.

I don't know that I'll really be able to see a difference in attendance, but I might get to see more friends at the drive which would be a win on multiple counts. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah, but it was *I* who put it in there (based on my vast experience in these matters). ;-)

Typically, once you realize you actually have an audience, the experience of writing becomes surprisingly compelling.

Welcome! You might note that I opened an account for exactly the same reason. Now I'm trying to figure out this whole system of figuring out who my friends are/having them notice me/telling them to let me read their posts. It's more of a project than I expected. How is it going for you?

I spent more time culling through friends' friends-lists and finding names I recognized than I expected too, and I'm sure I've still missed people, but think I was reasonably effective. Not everyone has friended me back but a lot of them have (with a little help from publicity in a couple of other poeples' LJs, I'm sure.)
