Huckleberries and Glaciers

Jul 07, 2014 17:15

We had a wonderful time up in Glacier, getting in a three day, two night backcountry trip on the far northeast corner of the park.

We didn't have much time outside of hiking to explore the area, but we did have amazing food and huckleberry shakes at the Park Cafe just outside of the St. Mary's entrance.

You had no time! You crazy!
Huckleberries are important. They can't be farm raised , you know.

If I would've know that you were going to get through to East Glacier, I may have insisted on The Snow Slip on the way back. We had a cabin near there growing up and I practically lived there.

Oh yeah, we must have passed that on our way to Two Medicine - it's hard to tell with those private campgrounds which ones are legit and which aren't, so that is super useful info - thanks!

Ooh! Friendly foxes and bighorn sheep.

There's some wildlife there! Don't often seem them too close up.

The fox was super friendly! He saw us, started to walk toward us, sat down and scratched his ear, and then wandered off.
