I like the idear that both the 8-year old and our 11-year old sometimes spell better than I do. The Elder is finally graduating from Thaynglish. Tho she is a science whiz!

Have to remember to fire up the antique wid the fule-sized keyboard next time I get the Lj urge.

Yes, I can -usually- spell, but Mom was an invertebrate Mark Twain addit and so uh cnnot resist the urge to play with language. Msst be one of those prenatal influenzas!

on Mount Hood, a currently dormant volcanic mountain about 70 miles east of here, to take the kids to play in the snow yesterday. The snow line was about 4500 feet elevation and we were about 5500 feet up below Timberline lodge. Pat had to work at 3:00, but we figured by keeping the foot down, we could get there and back in time.

To quote Essi Esmaili, my Groundwater prof, "Carlton, it's great technically, but it reads like a bad newspaper!" So I started taking my General Ed classes...

And Essi got his bachelors' in Iran! Fortunately he's a friend so I didn't feel so bad about his critique.

De-mossing the roof and teaching D.Anne to ride a bike. In four weeks she can now out-run me.

When she gets her new bike (with gears!), I will be whistling at her dust...

So have been teaching her safe riding habits.
