Had a phone call from a choral director colleague Friday afternoon about 3 p.m... his student accompanist hurt her hand and the opening of their musical, Seussical was at 8 p.m.... could I help him out... so... stupid, Jeffy says... Was great to be in Dallas and visit with the whole gang. I find now that that is the most important thing for a Bear Run for me. It's not about hooking up, playing or whatever but the time spent being around friends that live ALL over the country is what is important. Life is just too short! Took the students to NYC this past weekend. Had a GREAT time there... saw "The Color Purple", had a workshop with the Asst. Conductor, went to hear the NY Philharmonic, ate at Bubba Gump's and John's Pizzaria (my favorite pizza place in NYC) and then did all of the normal tourist things - Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, and shopping! Well, on Tuesday I went for my routine dentist appointment for a check-up. Everything went well and went by the receptionist desk before leaving. He's part of the bear crowd.
