The rest are under here )

SGA; Anything for a Teammate; John and Sam; G wildcat88 August 18 2010, 17:34:15 UTC
“Then Teyla shoves Ronon out of the way and punches the guy in the face herself.” John took another sip of coffee, smiling over the cup's rim. “We didn’t establish a trade agreement with the Purimeq.”

Carter nodded in commiseration. “I can’t count the number of times Jack got us tossed out of a negotiation. However, those were probably not the allies we needed.”

“Good instincts.”

“Exactly.” Carter held out her hand. “More?”

“Fill ‘er up.” John handed her his cup as he cast a glance at his watch. Four hours.

“Be right back.” Carter refilled both cups and returned, grimacing as she took a drink. “This pot is as bad as the last.”

“Guess institutional coffee is the same everywhere.” John leaned back, searching for a topic to distract himself. “Weirdest thing you’ve ever done for a teammate.”

Carter flushed scarlet as she set her cup on the table. “Well, I have about six that we’ve sworn to never speak of again-”

“Only six?” John murmured.

“-so I guess I’ll go with the time I had to mud wrestle an adamir - it’s a pig-like animal ( ... )

Awwww, this was very cute! There can't be enough John and Sam fics out there. Loved them comparing 'notes' on missions :D

Cooking was illogical, unpredictable and boring. It was best left to the professionals, while his brilliant mind was better spent on other problems.

I haven't seen the series, but I can totally see Sherlock Holmes doing this. :-D

Sherlock had, on occasion, been accused of treating people like inanimate objects, but never the other way around, so he ignored it.

I *love* that line. And his reaction to the imprecision of many of the recipes. Great stuff! :)

Due South; One Fish, Two Fish; wee!Ben Fraser and Bob Fraser; G vienna_waits August 18 2010, 19:25:52 UTC
Dad is in the armchair by the fireplace, smelling of snow and faraway places, sleepy and contented, and Ben sits on his lap with his favorite book, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. He is so happy to have Dad home that he never wants to go to sleep again. If he just stays on Dad’s lap, Dad will stay here. “This one has a little star. This one has a little car,” Ben reads ( ... )

oh I just loved this. Wanting to read to his father and stay awake so he woldn't leave - awwww.

I think the most amazing line to me was this:
He says the word three times in his head before he’s sure enough to say it out loud.

To see Fraser so careful at such a young age just made me want to hug him.

Beautiful characterization of them all, and especially of Benton and Robert's relationship.

Hee. Thank you, I'm really glad you enjoyed it. For some reason, my brain is latching onto the rarepairs at the moment (at least I assume Snape/McGonagall is rare, I've never written for HP fandom before).

Doctor Who; Life Study (Painting prompt); Amy, Rory, Eleven; G (Part 1 of 2) brokenheydar August 19 2010, 10:22:00 UTC
Amy chewed on the end of her paintbrush thoughtfully; the Doctor said it was a very valuable antique from a planet in the Seashell Galaxy that had outlawed all forms of artwork about five thousand years after she was born, but she found that it had a delightful sugar-mint taste that helped her focus, so antiquity by damned. Pulling it away from her mouth, she carefully added more definition to a leg. "Stop squirming. I'm almost done ( ... )

Poor Rory indeed. But at least he talked Amy out of asking if she can paint the Doctor.
